VENTURING IN THE ATLANTA AREA COUNCIL
ATLANTA, GEORGIA

Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader

… and all Venturing /Sea Scouting Youth are entitled to training to get the most from Scouting because you only get out of it what you put in!

Unlike the other boy and girl youth programs offered today, Venturing / Sea Scouting is the ULTIMATE, Youth-led program that is created, developed and executed BY THE YOUTH! The Scouting program can only be successful when both the Youth and Adults are trained which is why Venturing / Sea Scouting has always had 2 key training courses for Venturing / Sea Scouting;

  • Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews (ILSC) for Youth

  • Venturing Leader Specific Training (VLST) for Adults!

Here is the Training available for all Venturing / Sea Scouting Youth as well as Adults here in the Atlanta Area Council. Before you begin the advanced Training listed below, make sure you compete the preliminary training required by Scouting BSA

Advanced Training for Youth and Adults

Wood Badge for the 21st Century

Who do we work for? We work for the youth that we serve. Youth at every level of scouting deserve a well trained leader. If our goal as leaders of the largest youth organization is to offer the best possible program, we must be properly trained to implement that program.

The course uses the patrol method, model Team Leaders’ Council meetings and skill sessions to guide patrols on their "Quest for the Meaning of Leadership" and help participants develop leadership and teamwork skills to take back to their Units.
